Happy Valentine 2005

a reflection upon valentine *or the lack of it*

being the voyeur that i am, i was browsing through my friends' testimonials at the friendster.com and i realized that gals go for SNAGs (re:Sensitive New Age Guys) more than tough guys nowadays or do they? *raise one eyebrow*

i always think testimonials are extremely superficial but if you really read between the lines it can get very interesting...if you browse through a guy's testimonial, you'd most probably find a "he's one tough person, very cool and indifferent but inside he's actually a sensitive softy kind of person" or something along the line..it kept me pondering for quite some time...is that a compliment?an insult in disguise?

think about it...how do gals reject guys?*reference from a friend of the writer..but of course..hehe* they go "you're a nice guy,i bet you'll find someone better than me" what crap? i don't want anyone better than you..I WANT YOU!!!

i actually have quite a number of female friends who tell me stories about which guys they find interesting or those whom they find LAME *with a capital L.A.M.E* do you know they find SNAGs boring? uninteresting? monotonous? seriously! SNAGs are their friends but a guy with a wild streak is a potential boyfriend...what is this? double standard!

so the next time you are interested in a particular someone, please by all means, don't open doors for her, don't talk politely to her, and don't ever speak unless asked *if you're lucky you might even fall into the "cool" category*. a short advice for those guys out there, when a friend *esp.female* tells you that you're a SNAG, unless you want to be single all your life, by all means deny all facts, reject the testimonials, just keep the truth yourself! it's a good feeling to know that you are a SNAG but it's a better feeling to be attached...

btw, i am writing not because i'm a SNAG,i'm just concern with how gals can be so stereotypical *tsk tsk tsk* *grin!*

the new phenomenon in town!

i'm a sidewinder...are you?

*ahem* no..i'm not talking about the missile nor the desert snake "sidewinder"..it's a pretty interesting term if i must say..it's a self-made term to call people who stands aside when the wind blows pretty hard..why would anyone do that you ask? well some aren't blessed with the flat abs you see *grin*

if you notice just how crowded the gyms are nowadays you might be shock with the variety of people who frequent that place..it's quite interesting to see the people there i think *mind you not in any voyeur way or the sort thank you very much* the young, the old, the fit, the not-so-fit, men, women and erm...of course there are a few of the questionable ones too...erm and just a friendly advice, you might not want to stare at the later people too long in case they get the wrong idea...

what is it with people nowadays? are they more self conscious? *re:vain* do they care about how they look more? *re:vain* or maybe they just want to be more confident with how they look? *re:also vain right?*

oh well whatever it is i think it is important to join a gym because above all, health is ultimately crucial for a busy dynamic young person like me*a bit of self delusion won't kill, you know..XD* but for the time being the next time someone ask me about my tummy i'm going to quote Garfield the cat and answer "i'm not fat, i'm just not tall enough..."

the end is the beginning...

is there ever an end?

a young boy not more than 6 years old was sobbing while asking a woman whom despite the wrinkles on her face still looks healthy and zestful:
child: "you mean you're going to die too someday?"
woman: "yes, someday..."
child: "then where will you go?will i ever see you again?is that the end?"
woman: "no..i'd probably go to the Lord...you'll get to see me again when you yourself is called by Him..."
child: "but that would mean i won't see you for a long long time, granma...." *sob*
woman: *laughing softly*
that night the boy dreamt an angel came to him and brought him to a very bright place where everything is calm and peaceful...he woke up smiling...

sela....

the boy was in his lower primary while the woman had started having white hair and the wrinkles were already clearly shown on her face:
boy: "why do you have to live in this house?i'm so sick of you..."
woman: *laughing* "what right do you have to ask me that?"
boy: "you are always so mean to me...you beat me up!"
woman: "but that's for your own good!someday you'll understand..."
boy: "but still...don't you know it HURTS!"
woman: "you shouldn't have done what you did then...learn from your mistake!"
the shouting continues...both of them didn't talk to each other for a few weeks...

sela...

being a teenager wasn't such an easy task for anyone...especially for this boy, having to live alone in a foreign city...separated from his family and friends...he took consolation in visiting his grandmother in the old folks' home...
teen: "let's go to the supermarket today!we can take the public bus..."
elderly woman: "okay..."
teen: "how are you this week by the way?"
elderly woman: "nothing much actually, this house for the elderly is a pretty boring place..everyday is the same mundane day.."

sela..

an elderly woman about 80 years old of age was creeping her way to the toilet...the wrinkles on her forehead showed just how long she had lived on this earth...on the background there was a young man,in his prime, watching television while eating his dinner;not moving a budge or even a single glance to the woman...
young man: *sigh* "you're spoiling my dinner...."

sela.

voice on the phone: "grandma is no longer with us...she passed away just now...come home now"
*pause*
young man: "..."
*pause*
young man: "okay"

sela

there's no ending to this post as i know that the end is the beginning..is there such a thing as 'an end'?

i love you grandma...although i never say it out loud to you but i'm sure you know that you are missed by us-your family...i hope you rest in peace...until i see you again...
