immortality...(and the lack of it..)

Immortality
There is a vision and a fire in me
I keep the memory of you and me, inside
And we don't say goodbye
We don't say goodbye
With all my love for you
And what else we may do
We don't say, goodbye

Fighting tears writing this...*sigh* Never been great at expressing emotions...It's not that I don't love you...It's just me and my ego...*sigh*

the tsunami disaster (or is it?)

Matthew 6:3
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing

when i first heard about the tsunami i was in spore having prata with my friends at thompson road...we discussed it for not more than 5 minutes and continued with our prata...a week after the disaster *i dun read the newspaper THAAAT often- grinz* only then i realized the body count reached up to 100,000 and now it is nearing to 150,000. that is INSANE! can you imagine 150,000 people died in one fell swoop?

but enough of that, there are more than enough articles empathizing the whole tsunami disaster i suppose...i think they can write a better more heartwrenching story than i do anyways...*shruggs*

personally i think the interesting-often-overlooked part of the disaster is probably the donation given by companies...it is really weird in a sense since almost everyday you see in the newspaper about a certain company giving an amount of money for victims of the tsunami...erm, apparently the news even had pictures of the cheque giving...

is that appropriate? seriously, give it some thought...i mean if you want to give, then by all means GIVE but do you have to print them on a national newspaper or even worse *better?* the national television? what's the main aim? to motivate other people to donate also? maybe...but i think it is more like "free advertising" for these companies...maybe i'm being cryptic or skeptical this time...but then again much as you want to deny it i think my opinion rings some truth in it...*shruggs*

but then again at least they bother to give "something" *usually in lots and lots of zeros* for the victims...kind of got me thinking...who are the REAL tsunami "victims" now? the Aceh people? the heartless companies giving "advertising" donations? me for thinking such an unnecessary thing *aaaaas usual*? not sure...juz my lil 112.42 rupiah from me *2 singaporean cents converted in rupiah*...
